      Adult 6  (57-up)  3rd Floor Education Building 

  • Joy Class- Norma Coggins is our teacher. The aim of the JOY class is to study the Bible, learn and understand the Bible truths and become more like Christ through the conviction of these truths. We currently use LifeWay's "Explore the Bible" literature using a lecture/discussion format. Our class includes married, single, and widowed ladies ages 65-80 who strive to develop relationships through a ministry of love, care and Christian fellowship.

  • Ruth Class- We are a group of women who have lived more than 65 years each, loving, laughing, struggling to take advantage of the safe haven we have in trying to be more like Jesus. Some of us are unable to attend, but still minister to and are ministered to by this loving, praying class. Our teachers bring different styles and approaches to the classroom. They teach by lecture, discussion, and experience using Smyth & Helwys "Formations" literature.

  • Faulkner Class-  Our classed is composed of those over 60 years of age who would prefer a co-ed environment for class. We are using Lifeway's "Explore the Bible" literature. The teaching format is part lecture and part discussion-based. Our class loves Christ and desires a better knowledge of His Word. 

  • Burnett/Kessel Class- The class is composed of men, ages 65-80 years of age. Some are life-long members of the church. At present, we are independent study materials. The teaching format is part lecture and part discussion with frequent interruptions! Normally, Burnett and Kessel teach on alternate months with an occasional substitute. Visitors are welcome and always well-received.

  • Wyndward Class- Our class is composed of 35 active ladies. Five are in-service members teaching elsewhere. The women are a combination group of married, widowed and/or never married. The age range is upper 60's to middle 70's. The format is mostly lecture with some opportunity for discussion following the lesson. We use Smyth and Helwys "Formations"
    literature.

  • Joe Goddard Class- We are a class of older men who are interested in both Bible Study and discipleship. We use Smyth and Helwys "Formations" literature. Our class is largely lecture with frequent discussion.

  • Rebekah Class- Edna Hyder and Eleanor Luther are our teachers. Our class consists of ladies 80 years of age and up. Twelve members are able to attend regularly. We use a lecture method of teaching LifeWay's "LifeVentures" curriculum. Discussions develop from the material.

  • Shalom ClassName: Shalom  (Peace, Fellowship, Love) The class is composed of adult singles and couples in a representative mix of First Baptist membership who are committed to learning and caring for one another. The format involves exposition of Scripture and discussion enhanced with Smyth & Helwys' "Formations" (and other) literature. Our members represent a wide range of vocations and life experiences. Our distinctive is the ability to explore issues affecting Christian faith and life from a wide range of viewpoints in the spirit of Christian love.

  • Pastoral Class- This class is taught by Andy Edmondson and Cliff Shirley. It is a coed class of mixed ages. We use Smyth and Helwys "Formations" literature and are predominantly lecture-based, but very open to discussion as well.. Please feel free to visit our class.
